This is a very fine old Losso figure from Northern Togo.   Considerably less common than it's Nigerian Mumuye neighbors, Losso figures have some stylistic similarities in their angular, tense postures and genial expression.  Of hardwood and Ca. early 20th Cent. this figure has encrusted patina w/ remains of libations and feather offerings.
