Bamana

A large proto Bamana figure with definitive traits of the neighboring Senufo.

In fact this region of Africa is claimed by both groups and their carvings are, at times, almost interchangeable. 

Still, Bamana figures are rarer and this one, with its  furniture stud eyes, and encrusted patina, is an imposing work.
